This session presents historical and philosophical context for the hot topic of immersive audio and worship environments. Leaning into contemporary research on the psychoacoustics and emotional responses connected to ‘immersive’ spaces, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of deploying a more engaging and immersive design in your house of worship.

When is pitch correction necessary for live worship? If we decide to utilise these tools, where do we start from a technical (hardware/software) standpoint? Where might things go wrong if we don’t have a good plan in place? Whether you are new to pitch correction or a seasoned pro, this session will provide a framework for increasing your odds of musical success!

Many of our churches meet in rented spaces, including mine. The faster the gear
can be set-up and taken down is a huge advantage in this environment. Our
church for example is charged additionally every hour that goes by after our time
is up. We also don’t want to tie up the volunteers ’day.
This class will illustrate how easy systems can be to set up and operate, even by
volunteers with little to modest levels of skills. We will demonstrate the scalability
of these systems so that as the church grows , the systems capabilities can grow
right along with it. We will talk about loudspeakers, audio mixers for the
sanctuary and the stage and why you would want to consider digital technology
for these applications: presets and recall, which will facilitate fast and repeatable
set up and operation.

same thing? This is basically a Loudspeaker 101 class. This is a layman’s class not
filled with gobbledygook and specifications that make you glaze over but rather a
very practical class on what are the basics knowing how to make the best use of a
loudspeaker in given environment.
